Eksperci Schneider Electric przewidują, że do 2028 roku skumulowany wskaźnik wzrostu (CAGR) dla obciążeń związanych ze sztuczną inteligencją (#AI) wyniesie nawet 36% rocznie! Przełoży się to wprost na zwiększone zapotrzebowanie na moc obliczeniową i powierzchnię centrów danych, a także zużycie energii elektrycznej. Już dziś w skali świata obciążenia związane z AI pochłaniają ok. 4,3 GW mocy, a do końca 2028 roku globalne zapotrzebowanie energetyczne, towarzyszące takim obciążeniom, ma sięgnąć nawet 20 GW.
Szybki trend wzrostowy nie ominie Polski. Dziś w samej tylko Warszawie całkowity potencjał mocy tego typu obiektów przekracza 130 MW, a ogólnopolska prognoza na rok 2030 mówi o przekroczeniu pułapu 500 MW.
Priorytetem staje się więc dostosowanie infrastruktury centrów danych do konieczności zapewnienia ogromnych ilości mocy obliczeniowej oraz obsługi dużych zbiorów danych, tak aby były one w stanie w najbardziej efektywny sposób odpowiadać potrzebom towarzyszącym popularyzacji AI. W ślad za wymaganiami w zakresie mocy obliczeniowej i przestrzeni pamięci masowych, kluczowego znaczenia nabierają potrzeby związane z koniecznością zagwarantowania wysokiej niezawodności centrów danych, a także ich efektywności energetycznej oraz funkcjonowania w zgodzie z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju.
„Wraz ze wzrostem kosztów energii i rosnącymi obawami o środowisko, operatorzy centrów danych będą musieli skupić się na energooszczędnym sprzęcie, takim jak wysokowydajne systemy zasilania i chłodzenia serwerów oraz na odnawialnych źródłach energii – po to, by zmniejszać koszty operacyjne i ślad węglowy” – przyznaje Małgorzata Kasperska, wiceprezeska Schneider Electric na Polskę, Czechy, Słowację i Ukrainę odpowiedzialna za pion Secure Power.
Potrzeba sprostania nowym wymaganiom co do rozwoju infrastruktury centrów danych – w tym systemów zasilania, chłodzenia, projektowania szaf i przestrzeni serwerowych oraz zarządzania nimi – wymaga uwzględnienia specyfiki obciążeń charakterystycznych dla AI.
